The author of the idea of the Valmiera Marathon is Vilnis Priedītis, thanks to who's initiative and support, after several years break, once popular marathon will be resumed.
The main organizers of the event, is Sportlat Ltd (race director Girts Prieditis), which has several year experience of organizing many different professional and national sports competitions and marathons. It's important to note that SIA Sportlat has competence in work with modern chip technologies, which provides exact timing system for every participant. They have worked with their Championchip timing equipment both in Latvia (including Riga marathon) and other countries.
Important support to the Valmiera Marathon is given by Valmiera city council.
As the main designers of the marathon we have invited advertising agency Ideju Fabrika.
